Why this saint
The generous bishop who gave in secret and is invoked for provision, children, and financial need.
Saint Nicholas was the fourth-century Bishop of Myra and became famous for his hidden generosity, especially toward those who could not provide for themselves. Long-form prayer voice
Saint Nicholas, generous bishop and secret giver of gifts, I bring my {concern} before you. You understood need and answered it with mercy. Please ask the Lord to provide what is lacking, to open a way where I see none, and to guard me from fear that scarcity will have the final word. Teach me how to receive help with gratitude and how to remain generous even while I wait for provision. Saint Nicholas, patron of children and those in need, pray for me and bring my plea before Christ our Lord. Amen.
